The party awoke from their troubling dreams still unsettled, but their morning began with a more familiar comfort: coffee with Cyrus Wyvernblood at the Ocean’s Oath guildhall. With a sly grin, Cyrus encouraged them to take a new quest before Guildmaster Lily Wyvernblood woke up and roped them into something with her trademark cheer.

The group chose a mission involving strange lights at the docks and headed to consult with Archmagi Wregi for more information.

When they arrived, they overheard Captain Malcolm Monsterblade explaining that his forces were spread too thin after the dragon attack and couldn’t spare time to chase ghost stories. The party offered to take the job, and Wregi promised them a “wacky spell” that might help against the Chardalyn Dragon should they face it again.

Wregi briefed them: night shift dockworkers were refusing to work due to will-o’-wisp-like lights and eerie phenomena. With trade bottlenecked, someone needed to deal with the supernatural disruption.

The group headed to Colossus Port, the massive trade harbor of Rosenhall, where they spoke with:

  • The Foreman, a gruff, slightly misogynistic orc skeptical of ghosts but frustrated by the delay.
  • One-Eye’d Willy, a wizened old Tortle barkeep, who relayed whispers of a “Ghost Ship”—a spy vessel from the Civil War, said to have sunk during a covert mission and now returning every night at 3 AM.

With a plan to investigate the docks at night, the party first followed up on a nearby warehouse marked with the symbol of the Blackwater Mercenary Company. Inside, they found:

  • A full smuggling den, active but seemingly dormant.
  • A stolen portrait of the Raven Queen, recently reported missing from the Bard College in the Misty Cliffs.
  • A sleeping smuggler bearing the mark of the Golden Rat Syndicate, Rosenhall’s infamous organized crime ring.

The party skillfully subdued and arrested the smuggler without a fight and handed him over to Captain Monsterblade, who confirmed their suspicions:
The “Ghost Ship” may have been a cover for smuggling operations, using superstition to keep prying eyes away.

Malcolm agreed to notify the Bard College that the missing artwork was found and instructed the party to return the portrait when they next traveled to Bradford.

That night, as the moon rose high and the port fog thickened, the party returned to the Colossus Port, ready to confront whatever ghost, or smuggler, waited in the dark.
