Venturing into the condemned Necromancer’s Tower at the College of Ioun, the party faced the twisted legacy of Professor Oz, a once-brilliant necromancer who had tried—and failed—to resurrect his wife using the Book of Vile Darkness.

As they explored the ruined tower, they encountered spectral echoes of its tragic history. Will-o’-Wisps, formed from the souls of dead students, haunted abandoned classrooms. In the library, a violent poltergeist flung tomes and shelves with malevolent force. The tower’s cursed energy seemed to pulse with lingering regret and madness.

At the top of the tower, in what remained of Oz’s private quarters, the party confronted the horrific fate of his wife—now a warped, babbling mass of eyes and mouths: a Gibbering Mouther born of grief, dark magic, and obsession. During the chaos of battle, the creature’s mind-warping aura took hold. Seldanna, overwhelmed by its confusion effect, targeted Saratauc with an upcasted Witch Bolt, downing him. Tragically, the following turn—still caught in the confusion—she struck him again, delivering the final blow.

In the aftermath, as silence returned to the tower, Seldanna quietly smuggled a powerful necromancy tome from the library’s restricted section. Word of her actions spread quickly. Furious and grief-stricken, Antigone suspended Seldanna from the College of Ioun, pending formal review for her reckless magic use and direct role in Saratauc’s death.

With heavy hearts, the fractured party returned to Charmed Cove, carrying the Corpse Flower—the key to crafting a cure for the rot plague that had infected so many.

But not all wounds could be healed.
